Screw Threads through rolling
Rolling is a process that operates through the cold plastic deformation of the material and let the obtaining of precision threads and profiles.
Advantages of this type of working:
- More resistance due to the fact that the material, through rolling, doesn’t suffer the incision of its fibres but modifies the crystal structure, creating an excellent security against breakages.
- More resistance to wear, because rolling with the deformation causes the smoothing of the surface with a reduction of wear and noise, which besides permits a smaller working stress.
- Great repeatability due to the fact that using rough material with the right requested tolerances, it is possible to obtain very precise threads.
